特別是輸出輥道，過去多采用上述方法對中，但是近有把輥距縮小的傾向，因而采用后一種斜輥布置方式的輥道正在減少。這是為了在軋制薄規(guī)格的帶鋼時避免使帶鋼在輥道上因終軋速度高而造成折疊。此外，對于輥道的速度和輥子直徑也要充分考慮好。
