一個切向鍵只能傳遞一個方向的轉(zhuǎn)矩，傳遞雙向轉(zhuǎn)矩時，須用互成120°～130°角的兩個鍵。用于載荷很大，對中要求不嚴的場合。由于鍵槽對軸削弱較大 ，常用于直徑大于100mm的軸上。

矩形花鍵聯(lián)接是應用為廣泛的花鍵聯(lián)接。 應用廣泛。如航空發(fā)動機、汽車、燃氣輪機、機床、工程機械、拖拉機、農(nóng)業(yè)機械及一般機械傳動裝置等等。漸開線花鍵的齒廓為漸開線，分度圓壓力角α有30°及45°兩種。齒頂高分別為0.5m和0.4m(m為模數(shù))。

裝夾過程及工作原理。鉗臺底座在設備工作臺上固定好后，先調(diào)整可調(diào)鉗口座在鉗體底座上的位置，確保裝夾行程內(nèi)能有效對工件進行裝夾；再將待加工產(chǎn)品置于柔性虎鉗的兩個鉗口之間。
